We have had a great start to the 2019-2020 school year.  Educators across Arkansas are working diligently to ensure our students are receiving the best education possible.  At the Academy, we are committed to our mission of developing and supporting leadership capacity that fosters equity and excellence in education.  As we move into this new year of service, our foundational core beliefs remain the same.  We seek to ensure that through our programs, institutes, and partnerships, that we are continually focused on our vision to be the leader in leadership development.  Our work is centered on serving all educational leaders, from the classroom to the superintendency, and we value all of our great relationships throughout the state.

It is an exciting time to be an educational leader in Arkansas.  Department of Education Secretary, Mr. Johnny Key, and the leadership team at the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education have challenged us all to share in the vision of transforming Arkansas to lead the nation in student-focused education.  At the Academy, we fully support this vision and we take pride in collaborating with educational leaders and stakeholders from across Arkansas to make this vision a reality. This year, in addition to all of our programs and institutes, we are excited to begin a collaborative project with the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education.  The Arkansas Leadership Academy will support and work with the Leadership Quest Modules, the Leads 2.0 framework, and the educational leadership mentoring program. We will also assist districts with the High Reliability Schools framework and other school improvement support processes in coordination with the Office of Coordinated Support and Services.

I am extremely proud of the work of our Academy team.  As I have said, it is an exciting time for education in Arkansas.  Together, we will continue to provide enhanced leadership development opportunities and support to grow educational leaders throughout Arkansas.  Thank you to all of the educators in Arkansas for your commitment and dedication to the work.  You truly make a difference!  Have a wonderful school year!
