Instructional Leader Empowerment

Purpose and Design

The purpose of Instructional Leader Empowerment (ILE) is to support growth through a focus on improving instruction in the classroom. ILE provides professional learning and sharing opportunities from both national subject matter experts and local Arkansas educators. Sessions focus on developing and nurturing a plan and process for instructional leaders to impact and support classroom teachers and instruction in the classroom.

ILE will include three two-day onsite interactions and one one-day interaction, for a total of seven days of content delivery and sharing.

Content and Focus

Through Instructional Leader Empowerment, participants will:

  • Develop a deeper understanding of the professional practice of an instructional leader
  • Develop a plan for the implementation and monitoring of an instructional model
  • Engage in leading and facilitating collaborative curriculum conversations
  • Engage in a cycle of inquiry to define a theory of action
  • Define collective leader efficacy

Cohort A:

  • August 26-27
  • October 8-9

Cohort B:

  • September 10-11
